Having always been a poet, the literary world was no stranger.  Mel always found it easier to express herself in written form.  She is the author of "Mommy Says I'm Special!", "Daddy Thinks I'm Great!", "I Have A Question?", and Do You See What I See?",  children's books created to foster self love in young children. She previously served as the Director of Diamond Operations for The Diamond Writers where she was also a contributing author in the anthologies "Beneath The Crown: Her Story, Her Power, Her Voice" and "Valid Transparency: Poetic Confessions of A Transparent Gem", "She Is" and "Audacity".
